‘Dirty Dancing’ reboot postponed, Lea Michele has been screen tested 

The past few months, Lionsgate has been in early preparations to create a reboot of the 1987 classic film, Dirty Dancing. However, it now looks like it will be postponed.

Originally scheduled to be released in July 2013, the film will be pushed back at least one year due to casting reasons. Maria Maggenti and Glee‘s Brad Falchuk are set to write the script, while the original Dirty Dancing choreographer Kenny Ortega is attached to direct.

No cast has been announced yet, but Deadline states:

However Deadline has learned that Glee’s Lea Michele, Trespass’ Liana Liberato and Canadian singer Nikki Yanofsky were screen tested as were Brothers & Sisters’ Luke Grime, Nashville Star’s Justin Gaston and Dancing With the Stars’ Derek Hough.
